Ultrasound in Hemodialysis - Fundamentals
This course will address the difference between blind cannulation and echo-guided cannulation and the utility and purpose of echography, during this you will learn the all B-mode settings to create a clear image and the possibilities and handling of the echo probe to obtain a desired ultrasound image and perform an ultrasound guided cannulation.
Specifications
This module is intended for:
- Nurses with little or no experience with ultrasound
- Nurses who didn’t follow an ultrasound training before and learned it by doing it in practice
- Experienced nurses requiring dialysis recertification
- All nurses without dialysis experience
- Nurses interested in learning or refreshing the fundamentals of ultrasound
The full course will last approximately 75 minutes.

Ultrasound in Hemodialysis - Advanced
This course will address the principles of ultrasound, echo waves, the doppler effect and the creation of an image.
You will learn to use color doppler settings to create a clear image.
It explains assessing AV-Fistula maturation and detecting AV-Fistula complications using ultrasound.

- Experienced dialysis nurses:
- Who feel comfortable in using ultrasound to visualize and cannulate an arteriovenous fistula
- Who want to develop and enhance their cognitive, technical, and non-technical skills to an advanced level for leading a nursing team
- Who want to join or establish a vascular access team
- Nurses who have a basic knowledge and practical experience with cannulating an arteriovenous fistula or graft are highly recommended
- Nurses interested in learning or refreshing the advanced use of ultrasound
The full course will last approximately 90 minutes.
