Millville plant NPA

Nipro is proud to announce that the new line in Millville has become operational, producing premium quality glass tubing for the primary pharmaceutical packaging market with a clear focus on injectable medicines.

Millville plant furnace NPA

At the beginning of July, Nipro started packing tubes from the new lines and in the meanwhile, has ramped up to standard industrial production. The accomplished expansion does not only yield the much needed additional capacity, it also has decreased our energy consumption per metric ton of glass packed.

Over the past years, our tube-draw team in the US has been successful in increasing the output of the existing lines. However, the current investment has doubled the output on the line being expanded while only increasing energy consumption by 50%. This is a win-win for patient & planet health!

Enhancing Nipro’s position in the primary pharmaceutical packaging market

The new automated lines will mainly focus on producing Type 1 51 expansion borosilicate tubing, which is in line with market demands.

We want to congratulate the colleagues of Millville! Their dedication and willingness have made the difference in this project of strategic importance for Nipro and its partners. The entire team acknowledges this importance.

The investments that have been made will allow us to expand our footprint in the marketplace. The expansions will give us a greater opportunity to service our customers in ways such as improvements in quality, shorter lead times, and overall capabilities we may not have had in the past. It’s a great feeling knowing we are supported by an amazing company!
