NIPRO has successfully completed its first UK installation of the LiniXia RO water treatment system, marking an important milestone in the company’s collaboration with Diaverum. The opportunity emerged from early conversations around the clinic’s evolving water-plant needs. During a visit to NIPRO’s iMEP facility, the Diaverum engineering team saw LiniXia in operation and selected the system as their preferred solution.
Efficient installation under a tight timeline
The installation took place over the weekend of 22–23 November, carefully scheduled during non-dialysis hours to minimise disruption to the clinic. The project involved a single LiniXia system with a two-trolley configuration - a larger, more complex setup that required precise coordination and expertise. Completing the installation within the tight window represents a strong achievement for the teams involved.
NIPRO’s installation was carried out by Gary Maul and Rüdiger Tille and the team members from the UK technical team, with project management support from Jesus Garcia Martin, Gary Maul, Andy Bowers, Don Brooks, and Antonio Reginaldo. Close collaboration with Andy Owen, Head of Engineering at Diaverum, was instrumental in ensuring the project’s smooth execution.
Supporting a high-demand clinic
The LiniXia system was deployed in a busy 35-station clinic operating three shifts from 06:00 to 23:00 on most days, serving a high patient volume and requiring consistent, reliable water quality. The installation also provides purified water to the clinic’s acid concentrate dry powder mixing device, further supporting operational efficiency.
Added value: sustainability, cost efficiency, and performance
LiniXia’s benefits were a core factor in Diaverum’s decision. The system delivers significant reductions in water and electricity consumption, contributing to greener operations. LiniXia is more cost-effective than the previous setup while providing all required performance features for high-quality dialysis water.
The LiniXia installation was executed efficiently despite a tight timeframe, and the first impressions from the clinical team reinforce our confidence in the technology. This marks an exciting milestone for our collaboration with Diaverum UK.
Looking ahead
Although performance data is still being collected, early feedback from the clinical team has been highly encouraging. Nurses have highlighted the system’s intuitive interface and easy access to key information, and the product's quality has been described as “unquestionable.” Diaverum’s leadership has also expressed positive initial impressions.
The successful installation sets a strong precedent for future projects. With at least three additional LiniXia systems scheduled for installation in 2026.
