Nipro PharmaPackaging Germany is celebrating 102 years of glassmaking in Münnerstadt. Due to the global health pandemic, the centennial celebration in 2020 had to be postponed. July 09, 2022 is when the centennial could finally be celebrated in the presence of employees and their families.
Glassmaking is deeply rooted in the region and in the local community, and this was a unique opportunity for the relatives of all colleagues to witness first-hand how premium glass containers (both pre-fillable syringes and vials) for life-saving drugs are manufactured in Münnerstadt. The plant’s relevance to Nipro Corporation, and more importantly to society at large, has become imminently clear in the recent years and this will only continue to grow.
Münnerstadt’s mayor, Mr Michael Kastl and the District Administrator of Bad Kissingen, Mr Thomas Bold, participated in the celebrations and acknowledged the importance of Nipro’s presence in the region. “From Münnerstadt to the world! We will continue to support Nipro and have Nipro in mind when we present our region in Munich and beyond.”

Nipro is investing in the further expansion of its production capacity of premium quality glass for pre-fillable syringes. This investment is testimony to Nipro’s continued commitment to Münnerstadt and the region of Bavaria.
Nipro PharmaPackaging in Germany will be the first in its network that will be acknowledged as a manufacturer of an actual “medical device”, one that requires increased regulatory attention. This fits Nipro’s strategy and promise perfectly.
Nipro wants to thank its hundreds of employees (former and current) in Münnerstadt for their contribution over the last century and looks forward to an even more promising future.
