Empowering women through safety

In 2021-2022, women (aged 15-59) made up 29.4% of the labor force in India. Though the figures are low, Nipro PharmaPackaging in India collaborated with the local police, Nirbhaya Pathak – a team dedicated to protecting women - to educate our employees, especially the women, on acts and provisions as well as safety awareness tips.

The number of women employees at workplaces in India is increasing steadily. It is important that employees are aware of their rights, and are informed of how to travel safely to and from offices and plants which are located away from cities.

“Nirbhaya Pathak conducted an awareness program for the safety of women at Nipro Pharma Packaging India Pvt. Ltd. MIDC Khandala. Through this program, we shared necessary and important information on safety at the workplace and outdoors too. The role of Nirbhaya Pathak – awareness of the objectives and functions for the team in relation to women’s protection.
Defining emergencies and various types of violence against women at the workplace, on social media, and in any social setting.
Detailing case studies related to violence against women and its impact.
Elaborating on relevant acts and provisions to protect women.
How to use social media safely and wisely.
Tips to travel securely to and from the manufacturing plant which is located away from bigger cities.
Information on ways to educate children on child sex abuse.

The training program was welcomed by Nipro employees who found the session useful and filled with practical knowledge that could be applied to situations in their daily lives.
